Flydon Henri ap Pip 1981 - 2007

2nd December.....Last show of the season! Flydon Gwichyn, Flydon Coed Efydd and Flydon Auryn (all by Flydon Wyn) were 1st, 2nd and 5th in a large colt foal class at the Notts and Derby Charity Medal Show. Gwichyn went on to be Reserve Champion and Reserve Champion foal overall. Thank you to all our foal handlers this season, with 5 colts to show we couldn't do it alone. Their help has meant that all the foals have been to at least 2 shows, most going to 3 or 4. Thanks Hazell, Hannah, Neil, and Stuart and Pete...we've had fun!

Also at the show, Algarth Sarason, by Flydon Henri ap Pip was 2nd in the stallion class. Well done.

24th November.... Flydon Gwichyn was 1st in the colt foal class at Gwent area foal show with Flydon Coed Efydd (pictured below) standing 2nd. Gwichyn went on to be Reserve Champion. Both foals put on a spectacular display.

18th November.... Flydon Hwyl was 3rd in the colt foal class at the Midlands WPCA Foal and Youngstock show.

7th November.... Flydon Gwichyn was 2nd in the colt foal class at Bleanavon Foal and Youngstock Medal Show

11th November.... Flydon Diferyn was 2nd in a strong filly foal class at West Mercia Show today.

3rd November.... Oldacres Lilli (out of Flydon Lafant) was 2nd at the Home Counties youngstock show. Well done Terry and Andrea of the Hallows Stud.

8th October.... Flydon Eira left for her new home today. I have to confess that she is a favourite here so a few tears were shed. I am sure that Emma and Harry will love her dearly and have a lot of fun with her in the future

26th September.... Flydon Heulwen 1989 - 2007

22nd September.... Flydon Pefren has been sold to the Cromagtir Stud in Scotland. We are sure that Kevin and Lesley will have a lot of fun showing her.

31st August.... We received an email with news of Algarth Sarason (by Flydon Henri ap Pip) whom we sold at the Builth Spring Sale.

We are the proud owners of "Norman" ,as he is called at home and he is turning out to be a little star.  We  are very pleased with him, he has now been backed and is showing good movement under saddle.  We have been showing him in hand to date unbeaten, taking two Supreme Championships, he qualified on Monday for the PUK Autumn festival, going on again to take overall Supreme Champion of Leominster Show.

Phil & Rob.

Well done Rob, Phil and Sarason!

19th August.... News from Scotland! Crogmatir Devi by Flydon Hiwmor, was Youngstock Champion and Reserve Section A Champion at the Scottish All Welsh Show. This is added to her win earlier in the month when she was Reserve Mountain & Moorland Champion at the Dumfries & Lockerbie Agricultural show. Well done all!

14th August....more news from Denmark! Flydon Harri has also graded! Harri is only 4 and will mature into a lovely stallion. He is by Flydon Henri ap Pip and out of Flydon Elonwy. (Photo on right kindly sent to us by Leena Kahisaari.)

21st July..... After torrential rain all over the Midlands, we had 5 feet of water in our lane and the mares were grazing the edge of a lake!

18th July.... Flydon Hapus ap Henri has returned from three years of stud duties in Holland. He bounced off the lorry as though he had just been around the block...it's nice to have him home.

17th July.... Having bottled out of Bridgend show this last Sunday due to the torrential rain, it was nice to hear that others had been braver! Sarum Poppet by Flydon Caradog was 2nd in the 2/3 yr old class at Bridgend while Flydon Enfys was 2nd in the barren mare class at Ashby de la Zouche Medal show. Flydon Enfys (now owned by Dominique Brinkley) was sold as a foal so it was lovely to be sent this photo of her now as a six year old (I think!) Enfys is by Sunwillow Pesaro and out of Flydon Heulwen. The question we have though is ...How did they keep her legs so clean and mud free last Sunday????

Also over the weekend at NPS Area 17, Dukeshill Pipsqueak by Flydon Henri ap Pip was 1st in the A&B 4 years and over; she was then Reserve Champion 4 years and over M&M; and was then overall Reserve Champion M&M. She was also 1st NPS Home Produced small breeds and then Reserve Champion.

3rd March.... After wishing for rain throughout the summer of 2006....be careful what you wish for!!!! The depth of the water was approx 4ft and it came up and went in 24 hours, luckily it's only the road that floods. It makes an interesting change of scenery though!

25th February.... We have 20 foal sized halters arriving this week...don't miss them! Available from Lottie at shows @ £22 or by post @ £24. If ordering more than one, postage is less.

18th February.... Had a phone call today from Flydon's number one fan, Mandy, complaining that we don't have enough news! So as nothing is happening with the ponies I thought I would bring everyone up to date with the homeopathic worming programme. We started worming homoeopathically in January 2006, putting remedies into the water on a weekly basis. Throughout the year we have taken dung samples to the vet for worm analysis. We found that we only had to worm the adult stock twice in the year (End June and beginning October), and the foals 3 times, the last being in December to hit the bots. We were extremely pleased with these results, bearing in mind that we only run ponies on our 30 acres and they are fairly intensive. We are continuing the experiment in partnership with Crossgates Farm Homeopathic Product Ltd (01729 824959) and our vets to see if it is a long term success. This program has never before been done on a whole farm situation only on individual horses and so far we are very pleased with the results. More homeopathic products can be obtained from www.crossgatesfarm.co.uk

5th February.... After a lot of computer problems we are finally back on-line!! However we have lost all of our email contacts including those people who have asked for halters so if anyone has ordered halters please will you email again. Also all our friends and acquaintances...please email so that we have your email addresses!

31st January..... Flydon Efa has moved to her new home in Surrey at the Floreat stud where she will join Flydon Henadur and Flydon Cadw Cyfrenig who are already in residence.

17th January....We sadly had to say goodbye to our old and very successful show mare Flydon Elonwy at the ripe old age of 23. We had some wonderfully happy days together and she will always be a big part of the Flydon Stud. Her line continues through her son Flydon Wyn and his very promising offspring.

Elonwy pictured at the age of 21 having just won her 2nd Silver Medal.

10th January....  We were devastated to lose our junior stallion Flydon Lwcus at the young age of 4. We are lucky to have two beautiful daughters, Hudol and Eirlys , both very special yearlings.
